Five hundred years ago, in October, Thomas More had finished the manuscript that became the princeps edition of Utopia. To celebrate this event the research units CHAM (FCSH-UNL-UAç) and CIAUD (F A - UL) invite researchers from different areas cultures to gather in Lisbon, the October 20th to 22nd ,2016, for the International and Multidisciplinary Congress PHI 2016 – “Utopia(s): “Worlds and Frontiers of the Imaginary”. The Congress, with a natural focus on Social Sciences and Arts and Humanities, will have seven major themes: Thomas More, Renaissance and Utopia; Literary Utopias/Dystopias; Utopianism; Utopia and the City; Utopia and the History of Ideas; Real and Imaginary Worlds and Frontiers; Ideal Societies and the perception of the Other. These general themes should be considered as guidelines, and therefore opened to change upon participants’ suggestions. All proposed papers will undergo a double-blind peer review. Those papers accepted will be included in a volume offered to participants on the first day of the Congress, and their authors will sign the authorization for the subsequent publication on open access. |
