Renata SEREDYŃSKA-ABOU EID

Renata Seredyńska-Abou Eid is a PhD candidate at the University of Nottingham, UK. Her
doctoral project Translating Cultures – Adapting Lives has been aimed at researching cultural
translation among Polish migrants in the East Midlands as a tool for their adaptation in the host
culture. The ultimate aim of the project is to increase migrants’ awareness of socio-cultural
elements of their existence in the target country and to inform policy makers about migrants’
needs in order to alleviate social tension that may partly result from the unfavourable political
climate.
